KKP4949 Had a very good stay at Mount Lavinia, and Priyani the landlady was was very helpful with all our needs. The only remark i would like to make for improvement would be that all rooms be upgraded to have hot water, very reasonable price , good location. Regards Kirit Parmar

KylieMB I recently stayed here for just over a week. I was looking for somewhere chilled out and relaxed where i could get some uni work done during the day. It was the perfect place for a budget traveler. I booked a single room but was given a dorm room to myself as it was low season. The place was clean, fans in the room, nice atmosphere. You are allowed to use the fridge, microwave and cooking facilities in the main kitchen, and also the TV in the common area if you like. There is a lovely little outdoor garden, perfect for sitting outside in the evening and chatting with other traveler's or doing your own thing. Wi-fi is also excellent - it doesn't reach the rooms (at least the one I was in) but there was plenty of space in the common areas. I prefer to be out of Colombo city centre so thought this location was great. Few minutes walk to the beach in one direction and to the main street with lots of cheap food options in the other direction. Easy walking distance to local buses and trains so can easily get anywhere you need to go. The people running it are lovely. Very friendly and helpful with anything you need and also respect your space. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is travelling on a budget and wants a nice, simple place to stay.
billis Good breakfast, everything worked 300 yds from the beach across the railwayline 1/2 a mile from the station, 300 yds from the bus stop into Colombo or Galle the other way 1 1/2 miles from the zoo. Helpfull service can do washing. it is not like a european hotel but neither is the price, I will use it again.
kundarapu.ramak CBH was fine. With no food or hot water or any additional facilities its ok at its price for a nights stay. It in walkable distance to the main road with restaurants and shops on one side and the beach on the other side.

elltracy We really enjoyed staying there. Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Great way to start our trip and meet other travelers.
devnoronha Its a bit out of the way, but there are regualar buses just up the road to the city center and for the price its brilliant. The rooms are immaculate, clean and the staff is very efficient.
olgasrilanka I love this place and people who make this guest house very cousy and comfy :) great atmosphere and hospitality of the owners made my stay unforgettable! beach, great weather and nice people all over , highly recommend everyone to visit this goesthouse.
Romantico We stayed there twice, the first few days of our stay then the last two nights. Colombo is quite expensive nowadays and you can't expect to get much better than that for the price paid. Free high speed internet, cable tv, bathroom in the room. We were able to leave our big luggage there for more than a week for no charge, that's very appreciated. We also borrowed Ron's lonelyplanet for our little tour in the north... The location is good, up in the streets, very quiet. Can catch the bus 138 just few minutes away from the house and you will get in the heart of Colombo city in 15-20 minutes, next to the Fort train station for 15 roupies. There are tour proposed of course but they won't hustle you if you tell them that you are not interested. But if you have a bigger budget than I had, sounds like a good deal. Maybe the only negative point would be the food quite expensive compared to what you can find in the streets, but then you won't find what they cooking in the streets, so... To resume, good location, quiet, pretty cheap for the facilities provided. Thank you Ron and to your friendly staff. Hope to see you again.
