The Green Man Hostel and Pub offers London backpackers the unique opportunity to stay above a traditional English Pub right in the heart of central London. We offer great-value accommodation in safe and clean dormitories, with excellent facilities including free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free use of our in-room security lockers.
We have eight rooms, including six mixed dorms, one female-only dorm and a private twin room. The mixed dorms have six, nine or 16 beds, giving you the opportunity to meet and greet fun-loving party people from all over the world.
The female-only dorm is perfect for female travellers to meet new friends in a relaxed and secure female-only environment, whilst the private twin room is perfect for those couples looking to share the backpacker's hostel experience with that someone special in their life.
All of our bathroom, toilet and shower facilities are shared and are kept clean and tidy by our dedicated staff to ensure they're fresh 24/7.
Our freebies include free luggage storage, free bed linen, free discount vouchers for London tours and a free London walking tour. You also get entry to the live music and karaoke. For a small fee you can also avail of a hairdryer, straightener, laundry facilities or local car parking. There's 24hr security and 24hr check-in.
The Green Man Pub has been on this site since the 1800s, making it a historic London establishment. Our 24-hour bar features a wide range of English ales, spirits and shooters - perfect to get your night started!
Our pub kitchen serves up traditional favourites for lunch and dinner. Live music and events are on weekly and our three big-screen plasma TVs have Sky Sports and ESPN, which show all major sporting fixtures live, including Australian Rules Football, NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, AFL, NRL, cricket and premier league football.
Our location puts hostel guests within walking distance of Baker Street, Madame Tussaud's, Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park. We're also immediately beside the Edgeware Road Underground Station (Bakerloo, District and Circle Lines) and two stops from Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express Train.
Please note that we do not accept guests under the age of 18 years. You must be at least 18 years old to stay at our hostel. Valid photo ID is required at check-in. No ID, no stay - no exceptions.

The Green Man is a really cool hostel. It's located on top of a pub so it's really easy to dander down to the bar open 24 hours and have general banter with all sorts. The general public are kicked out at 12am and that allows for hostel guests to kick on with midnight madness peaking. 1 pound shots, music and good people make for a really good night. You can go out and come back to hostel at 4am and kick on with more drinks and great conversation. The rooms are a bit small especially the 6 bed girl dorm, not much space to move when luggage is sprawled all over floor and everyone is trying to get ready. But the 18 bed dorm is spacious and alot easier to spread your wings. Staff is generally good and will help you out if need help. The hungarian tomas is a mad dawg and creates a good atmosphere after 12am when people are ready to kick on and chat away. He keeps the vibe pumping and the people entertained. Cleaning staff clean every morning so hostel is kept nice and clean. Overall had a really good time at the Green Man and all my needs were faciliated. The only criticism is the small room, but when your just dumoing your stuff down to sleep its fine.

pretty nice hostel, in a good area, close to all the important sights (and tube station is just round the corner). lovely, traditional english pub on the bottom floor, where you can relax and have a pint after a long day. there is bedding provided, which i found very helpful (didnt have to carry my own sleepingbag); only disadvantage is the lack of kitchen, you cant really prepare your own food, can only get some hot water from behind the bar. breakfasts were really nice though, simple, yet tasty. staff's helpful and friendly.

Very good value for the price. Bakerloo line is five steps from the front door, with a train ride downtown in ten minutes. Beds are nice and neat, rooms in general clean. Sink, bathrooms and toilets are all very basic but decent. Breakfast choice is limited to two kinds of cereals, toast and two kinds of jam, tea and coffee. Given the price - more than acceptable. The bar downstairs is open 24/7 and serves nice variety of drinks. Staff is very friendly. Have stayed there two times, will gladly do again.
