Vertigo Vieux port is a newly renovated hostel in Marseille. As for Vertigo Centre that opened 3 years ago, you can find the feeling of a second home here.
The hostel is located in the Old Port area, walking distance from beaches, bars, clubs, central market and the famous Notre Dame church.
It was renovated from two typical buildings which makes you enjoy the modern cosy atmosphere and at the same time have the feeling of exploring a typical marseillan house.
Every room in our hostel is carefully designed and decorated by local artists according to the unique character of each room.
We offer charming 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 people bed rooms. All of our dorms are equipped with comfy wooden bunk beds, private shower & toilet facilities. 5 and 6 people dorms are equipped with 2 private bathrooms.
Our friendly, most caring & multi-lingual staff will answer all your questions 24 hours a day. We'll try our best to make you have a memorable stay in our hostel and in Marseille.

Our 4-person dorm room was very large with nice beds. The hostel had a cool design, with interesting art on the walls. The kitchen had a horrible smell and only one electric stovetop for cooking, which was a pain at dinnertime. Good location near the old port with grocery store and restaurants nearby, although the port was under construction so it was difficult to walk around. The staff was helpful, friendly and happy to recommend places to eat nearby.

We were very satisfied with this hostel.
We were able to cook (there are a lot of cooking facilities) and the multifaceted breakfast was delicious (coffee, milk, tee, orange juice, baguettes, jam, butter, honey, 3 different kinds of cereal,...). The room was clean and there are two separate rooms for the toilet and the shower + sink. We felt like at home.
On our trip through France we've stayed at many hostels and it was by far the best one.
We definitely recommend it to future travellers!

location was good in respect to being in the old port area but nextdoor to a nightclub was not at all an ideal location. This club went all night untill 5am and therefore they need more or better soundproofing walls. I would advise not staying there fri or sat nights unless you want to party hard till 5am.
Otherwise very clean and new mattresses and nice common area and friendly staff.

Brilliant place to stay, everything you could want from somewhere when travelling on a budget. Very clean and tidy, excellent facilities, hassle free and great location. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!!
