Dar Mystere is a traditional Moroccan courtyard house, or dar, available for holiday rent, perfectly located for the first time visitor to the ancient medina of the former capital city of Morocco - Fez.

Your stay in Dar Mystere will not be just a holiday, but real Moroccan experience immersed in the spirit and culture of the imperial city.

You can rent Dar Mystere from less than €24 per person per night for up to 6 people. The prices indicated are based on full occupancy. For 2 sharing the whole house, prices start from €80. Prices for extra people, the daily prices range from €15 to €30 depending on season.

The house is in a fantastic location, situated in the popular Tala'a district, within easy reach of the Blue Gate, or Bab Boujloud, which is a safe area frequented by tourists, yet still typical of the alleyways, souks and bazaars of the Fez medina.

Dar Mystere has been renovated in the traditional Moroccan style with tiled (zelij) floors, carved plaster decoration and cedar wood doors and ceilings.

Three salons surround the spacious patio area on the ground floor with plants and traditional lanterns. There is a kitchen and shower room and WC here too.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one of them ensuite. There is a balcony overlooking the patio outside the second bedroom with a separate WC. The second floor has the third, twin bedroom looking onto the terrace.

From the split level roof terrace are views over the medina to the Borj Nord (North Fort), the Tombs of the Merenids and beyond to the slopes of Mount Zalah. Up here on the roof terrace is another kitchen/utility area, ideal for a relaxing evening after a days adventure in the medina.

Directions:

1. From the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud); walk through the gate and straight down with the Kasbah Restaurant on your left for about 30 metres.

2. Follow the natural route to the right and again left at Thami's street cafe under the tree.

3. Continue straight down Tala'a Sghira for about 100 metres and as you pass the long high wall of the Madersa Bou Nania on your left you will see a small arch to your left.

4. From here you can follow the signs to 'Pension Kowtar' which is directly opposite Dar Mystere which is number 30 Taryana Sghira and is on your right.
