Casa dos Guindais” (please visit www.guindaisbooking.com),is an XVIII century house, located in the historic center of Oporto, that has seen great moments of history, both sad and glorious from French invasions in 1810 ,to the more recent“ Carnation Revolution” in 1974 bringing Portugal to democracy. World heritage protected by Unesco near by the Ferdinand Wall, the Cathedral and funicular elevator .

The restoration of the building complied with the original plan and allowed to preserve some old elements in a project with lines marked by modernity and simplicity.

The materials used are noble and respect the rules of conservation of historic buildings in the city - Wood, Glass, Iron and Granite.

It is composed of 5 independent studio apartments equipped with everything that is essential to make guests feel at home. Details like extra thick doors and windows guarantee both comfort and safety. The rooms have two twin beds, bathroom, kitchenette and access to a romantic garden.All studios are non smoking.

The restoration resulted in creating a well coming environment with a simple, modern decor, but also including some vintage antique furniture made by national craftsmen, with small touches of elegance that gives the place a very special atmosphere.

The project was developed around the existing tunnel and surrounded by courtyard and garden, guaranteeing privacy and peace for all who benefit from this space.

How to get there:

From the Airport, take the surface metro line violet to Trindade station (25m) swap to yellow line and exit at São Bento station ( 5m).

Exit the station by walking to Sé Catedral exit. Once you reach street level, take second left (40 meters), walk another 100 meters, and cross the road at traffic light, you will see the Ferdinand Wall, and a square named after Arnaldo Gama ,a novelist.
