jenengers This review is long overdue as it has been just over a month since our trip to Tanzania and stay at the Umoja Eco Hostel. The big positive here is that both the owner and on-site manager showed genuine concern for our comfort and safety, not only while staying with them, but for the remainder of our trip. They truly went above and beyond and no matter the time of day, we were greeted with a warm smile. The grounds are lovely and the view from the outdoor dining area is beautiful. The property itself is a little too far to walk from the bus station and required a short cab ride. We were able to walk in and out of town during the day but wouldn't recommend doing so at night. The internet was down while we were there but hopefully is up and running now (if this is important to you, I would check in advance). That being said, we were able to organize most everything we needed through the hostel. We would definitely stay here again!
