A few years ago Woody Allen filmed his movie Manhattan Murder Mystery at Hotel 17. Madonna has stayed here, as well as many other celebrity artists, models, and actresses.

East Village: The East Village is perhaps the 'Social Mecca' of New York City. Much different than Greenwich Village, the East Village offers a grungier, rock and roll type atmosphere.

The Fillmore may not be alive anymore, but there are a lot of great clubs such as Coney Island High, CBGB'S, and Irving Plaza. (This is only 3 blocks from Hotel 17)
