charlf1 This is a wonderful place to stay despite poor service and average food at the attached restaurant. I was charged twice for the same booking and the receptionist referred me to Expedia for a solution with total disinterest. I do not know why there were two bookings on the same night for me. She was not interested in her guests at all and we had to stumble around looking for things such as the breakfast room as she was seldom available and no information was provided. The restaurant prices were outrageous and the food not great. Having said all of that, the rooms were faultless - really authentic, super comfortable and super clean and the location very well placed to explore old Dubai. I loved the room, the authentic historic feel and would recommend a stay here, despite the shabby service and poor food. There are great eating places within a few minutes walk, so the restaurant can be avoided and you are unlikely to be charged twice . What a pity such a wonderful guest house is marred by service issues.
