ericvargas I came across El Galope online, completely by mistake and stayed here for 2 nights. For anyone reading this I have to let you know that this place is amazing. If you´re an expat living in Buenos Aires and want to escape from the chaos of the city, you should definitely check this place out. The tranquility and peace that you feel here is really something else. You´re completely surrounded by nature and its extremely peaceful, at the estancia you´ll even see a few sheep, horses, and cows. I also have to say that the hosts Monica and Miguel are extremely nice. If I´m not mistaken they both speak English, Spanish, German... and I believe French as well (I´m not too sure on that last one). I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different during their visit to the Colonia area.
sowats The young staff were very helpful, understood and spoke English very well indeed. A three minute walk to the centre of town and also the historical centre. Overall, good value for money

jenneffero The staff were really nice to us, my daughter has a 5 mo. old baby and wanted to go to a local farm to see the cows milked (hostel carries their brochure). They drove us there and when the staff at the farm didn't speak english upon our arrival, they came back later and translated for us, even drove us to the bus station afterward to get our bus to Montevideo.
