mab0631 This was a very effective place to stay in a city that thrives on action. I like the location because it was near a Circulator bus stop and a major street so easy to use for all purposes. The staff was very friendly and realistic but also adhered to the rules. The fellow guests were a delightful mix and even some who were in the "senior" category other than myself. It's not fancy. It is cheap and clean. It is a hostel and it works extremely well.
leon0144 The location is within walking distance to Union Station and from there to other attraction was easy. The room and bed was clean and smell fresh. Service staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The only problem is the lack of toilets, will have to wait long when there is alot of people.

levchiks I was very dissapointed with breakfast - there were only pancakes and that's it. No cheese, bread, cottege, vegetables, fruits - nothing. Only pancakes.

EnoughRope This wasn't really like staying at a youth hostel, more like staying over at someone's house when they happened to be having a lot of houseguests, or an extended lost weekend. This is the sort of place where some people go off to bed at a sensible hour, while others stay downstairs playing poker till two in the morning, or drinking beer, or just talking about stuff (on the night I was there, the crowd included an epicure from Arkansas, a young graduate interviewing for a job at the White House, an actor from England, and a Dutch man about to run his 53rd marathon). Also, there are plenty of communal activities - if you like that sort of thing; it's also perfectly possible not to take part. During the day, though, when the place is empty, sitting on the porch and reading a book feels restful, like you're visiting your parents. Location wise, it's a short walk from a metro station, which is useful, although the station is about 15-20 minutes out of town. Not much in the neighbourhood - a handy seven-eleven and liquor store nearby, but really you'll be wanting to head into the centre. Slightly too many beds in each room, and slightly too few bathrooms, but that probably keeps the cost down. Very good value, and a great place to meet interesting people.
