Budget Accommodation Apartments Central America
San Salvador, El Salvador
I was very impressed with this Hotel and very glad I stayed here. I had read it was a bit out of the way, but the centre of town is only a 15 minute walk away. The staff were very friendly and hospitable and were able to give me a lot of good information about not just San Salvador but the entire country. It was exceptionally clean and rather quiet as well. Good hot water and cable TV, free internet. Mostly it is very safe. Breakfasts were wonderful - served with a big smile. I would def recommend Hotel Tazumal and return when I am back in the capital.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
It was convenient for my purpose there. The staff is friendly and helpful. However it's really noisy due to its proximity to the road out front. The local population makes absolutely no effort to curb the noise anytime of day or night. I found the bed a little uncomfortable and the pillows were low quality. You have to be quick in the morning to get hot water to shower with, otherwise it's all used up. I would not recommend the country as a vacation destination due to the high level of police corruption. I was shook down by the police after being in the country less than an hour. Also the drivers are among the worst I have ever seen. I would recommend the country for dental work. I've stayed in many third world hotels and this one is very comparable to most of the others in this price range. I might stay there again but I would definitely request a room in the back as far away as possible from the road out front.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Nice place if you go with friends. I'll problably sleep there if I go to PR again
