- Katie and the burst appendix
So yesterday at 2.30am Katie comes into my room complaining of terrible pains in her abdomen, crippled over and sounding like she was going into labour. To my untrained and unscientific mind, I naively thought that maybe she just needed Posted by revel in In Alexandria | Sep 24, 2009

- What is the time?
Yesterday was crazy. It was the first day of Eid. Apparantly in Alexandria this is a time when every (pre) pubescent boy comes out to play downtown. We got so much hassle:

Moving in ----
On Tuesday Katie and I moved into a really nice flat in an area called Sporting. It's very near the Corniche (the road that runs along the seafront) and about a ten minute drive eastwards from the Posted by revel in In Alexandria | Sep 17, 2009
- Egypt
Whilst the details of traveling are most often boring and not worth writing about, I feel our journey from Cairo airport to our hostel gives an interesting first insight into Egypt. We arrived in Cairo at about midnight where Posted by S Pirouet in African Adventures | Sep 14, 2009

- First Few Days
So here I am in Cairo. It’s a huge city of 18 million people. It’s bustling and exciting, especially as it’s the month of Ramadan, but quite overwhelming as well. The first night here was a huge culture shock but Posted by revel in In Alexandria | Sep 10, 2009
- Egypt here i come!
Egypt was kind of boring. It is the 38th largest country and the capital is Cairo. The population is 82,999,000 and the area is 1,062,450km. The language they speak is standard Arabic and the total GDP per capita is $2,161. Posted by jazmyn in Our beautiful world | Sep 9, 2009
- People in Egypt
Are by and large very, very different from those in the rest of the middle east. My guess is that they have been spoiled by having too many tourists, and so rather than being intrigued and welcoming many of Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 20, 2009
- Cairo Transit
To get to the airport we wanted to do it like the locals, and it was an adventure.
First we got directions to where the bus terminal was, then took a minibus to get there. Flagging the minibus took Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 20, 2009
- Cairo - in the city
Our travels through Cairo were among the highlights of our Egypt experience. We had originally planned to change hotel after the first day, but the place we went that was supposed to be "5 minutes taxi, 30 minutes walk" Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 20, 2009
- Camel ride between Pyramids
Sue confronted her fear of animals by taking a 15 minute camel ride near the pyramids. It was a bumpy ride, but it was fun to watch Sue with her legs far apart to avoid touching the camel and Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 17, 2009
- Cairo - Pyramids and the Sphinx
The pyramids were big, something like 20 stories tall, but after the amount of hype on the pyramids it didn't live up to expectations.

- Felucca on the Nile
We spent 2 days going up part of the Nile on a felucca, which is a big sailboat. It was a good opportunity to catch up on sleep and take in the scenery.

- Valleys of the Kings and Workers (Luxor)
The valley of the kings is a large complex with dozens of pharoahs' tombs individually carved underground. We went into 3, all more-or-less the same (unfortunately no pictures were allowed): a long downward-sloping hallway with hierloglyphs (drawings) c Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 11, 2009

Going up Mount Sinai was a trek of biblical proportions. Well not really, but it took close to 3 hours to walk up (7km uphill plus 750 steps carved into the mountain) and over an hour to go down Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 8, 2009

It was a 45-minute intro dive, and we went down just under 10 metres. The way it was structured was pretty easy: put on wetsuit, flippers and air tank, go in the water to practice breathing and clearing water Posted by chrisvasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 4, 2009
(Cairo)
只能说:been there, done that罢了。

(Luxor)
Valley of the King (皇帝山谷)和Valley of the Worker (工匠山谷)
[b]
Posted by suevasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 12, 2009
(Mount Sinai)
Posted by suevasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 9, 2009
Posted by suevasil in Overland for 8 Months | Aug 8, 2009
