Pretoria, South Africa's administrative capital, is located in the northeast of the country in the Gauteng Province. Many of the streets are lined with Jacaranda trees, which have a beautiful mauve blossom in spring. These trees have earned the city the nickname Jacaranda City, while plans have been put in place to rename the city to Tshwane.

Staff were unhelpful, uninformed about the local area (could not answer basic questions), and seemingly high. Their advertised "airport shuttle" consisted in calling a friend on the phone to pick us up, and (attempting) to charge us twice the proper fare (we opted for a proper taxi in the end). ... more

We stayed there for one night and were extremely pleased. The staff was very nice, the place very clean. The staff gave us maps of the city and pieces of advise of the best places to visit.
