Santiago

Santiago (or Santiago de Chile) is the capital of Chile, with a population of approximately 5.5 million people. Alongside Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, Santiago is one of the leading economic hubs of South America. But Santiago is also stunningly beautiful, its modern skyline set against the backdrop of the snow capped Andes mountains.

Hostal Oveja Verde

It was a bless to stay in Hostal Oveja Verde. My family and I had a good time. It is located in Providencia and it´s a beautiful place. Oveja Verde is closed to stores, restaurants, a pretty park and it is closed to the Manuel Montt Station (Metro). We hope to come back there soon. Thanks to the owners, Aquiles and Nacho. The hostal offers high value for money. The rooms and the house are very clean, the nice garden (outside seating is possible) is very relaxing and offers fantastic sun seatings. I extremely appreciated the very friendy owners and service team, who helped me out with anything, tour reservations, hostel pick up and travel on tickets. ... more

Across the road from the Bellas Artes subway station, this makes for a great base from which to explore Santiago; we only stayed one night here, alas, but between the rooftop terrace and general vibe, I could see what makes this a popular place. ... more

025 is covered up so look for the yellow building or ask friendly neighbours and they can point out the hostel. Kurt was very hospitable, greeting our jet lag with fresh juice and a smile.

After exploring the entire city, Bella Artes is by far the best area to stay in. We booked in for 4 nights and two apartments for three of us.

Friendly and helpful staff, and great location for going out in the evenings. However, double room 4 was pretty noisy from the street late at night (ie until 4am both nights).

This funky laid out hostel is expensive for what you get. The rooms are nicely decorated, but the common area is minimal and basic.

I thought the hostel was a lovely place in a great area of Santaigo. It was great to sit in the garden area but I did think that a lounge area inside would be good for the cooler weather.
