Reeflodge

4 Wickham St City - Hostel
LONELY PLANET The cruisy atmosphere at Townsville’s best hostel extends from Buddhist sculptures and hammocks strewn through the gardens to an outdoor cinema with swinging lounges and more than 1200 DVDs. There is a games room with bench presses free weights and a retro video game machine. The sizable kitchen. dorms and private rooms are all spotless. BUG REVIRW 4 STAR Reef Lodge is a beautifully maintained hostel with a laid back atmosphere right in the heart of the city centre.

It is huge and looks like it should be a buzzing backpackers' hostel but it was deathly quiet when we went, which was at a time I'd have expected a few more people to be around (December). The rooms were basic but clean and air conditioned. The bathrooms were communal and large but again clean. ... more
