Has anyone stayed at a decent backpackers in Apia which they would recommend? ALso, I've got three weeks in Samoa, so how would you split the time between Upolu and Savai'i? ...

The Green Turtle bus runs once per day and is adequate and comfortable - though you can actually get everywhere by public bus if you don't mind a bit of discomfort.
