Coimbra

Coimbra (pronounced Queembra) is located between Lisbon and Porto. Its university is very old but most of its original buildings were destroyed in the major earthquake of 1755. The town is situated on a steep hill, although there is a significant part on the far side of the river Mondego.

it's far from anywhere in coimbra, its dark, dirty, the hot was horrible (i couldn't sleep) because the windows only open a few centimetres. personal of the kitchen was not friendly at all. internet was broken for four days and nobody tried to fix it. the worst youth hostel i have been in europe. ... more
