Chamonix

Chamonix is a town and popular ski resort in the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in central eastern France. It is located in the eastern portion of The Alps and the scenery is stunning here. Chamonix has about 10,000 inhabitants living in one of the highest communes of the country at around 1,000 metres above sea level.

just stayed 3 nights at AWA Chamonix Chalet Whymper, from 13-15 July 2010. The location is the killer. You have the best location, almost next to the tourist info center and just next to the town center but still you are in a very quietly location. Oh, and a supermarket just next to you, which is very handy. Cleanliness... they could imporve. ... more
