Cozumel

Cozumel means "Island of the swallows" in Mayan. Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea opposite Playa del Carmen. It is one of the 9 municipalities of the state of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is the third-largest island in Mexico and the largest Atlantic Island of Mexico.

Great location and great service from Elaine...Also, the breakfast was great. Only comment is that our king-size bed was really two twin beds put together, so was not so comfortable. The hotel was situated right off the main square, very convenient to the ferry, cabs, etc. The only glitches were not anything they could control: The staff spoke Spanish (duh!) and I did not bring a phrasebook. They were very polite and very accomodating. They allowed us to rinse off our dive gear in their courtyard, using their hose. ... more
