Durrës is a port city along the central coast of Albania. Durrës is one of the oldest cities in Albania and has been flooded three times and the current one is built on top of the previous two. There are some fantastic sites as well including the largest amphitheater in the Balkans.

  • Durres, Albania - Where to next?
    I travelled they other way around. From Ohrid a bus to the border, than a minibus from Pogradec to Tirana, stayed a while over there, than on to Durres. By train the last bit, recommended. Dirt cheap and back then (2003) it was an old Vienna subway with broken windows and dirty seats...fantastic Ohrid ...
