Düsseldorf is the capital of the Northrhine-Westfalia area with a population of about 500,000 people. Early 7th and 8th century fishing villages existed along the Rhine River where the city of Düsseldorf is today. The first written mention of the city can be dated back to the 12th cenutry and it slowly grew into an important European city.

Breakfasts good. Room basic but comfortable but with horrible rubber mattress protector. Volume control on TV was broken and remote control didn't work. Reception helpfulness was patchy, they don't seem able to cope with incoming calls to guest bedrooms and phone didn't work for outgoing calls even to reception desk. Shower a bit feeble. ... more
