Pushkar is in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan and is a very holy place centred around a lake. It might not suit all travellers tastes when it is absolutely mobbed during the annual Camel Fair, but it has a special magic particularly down at the holy lake at sundown.

Hotel Everest was the 4th hotel we stayed in during our trip in India and we absolutely loved it!! hi! i am planning to go to india (again) this oct./nov. from 2 to 5 nov. i want to be in pushkar for the camel fair (i think in total i would like to stay about 5 to 10 days). has anyone experience with accommodation for this time?? i suppose everything is going to be full and/or very expensive? anyone a good ...

Dont go to Pushkar, despite it (apparently) being a very holy city, the apparent holy men try and rip you off by performing a kind of voluntary religous scam on tourists and then request payment and they get very annoyed if you dont part with your money. Jaisalmer is the much better option. ...

Da der sechs Uhr Zug voll war, mussten wir auf den 5 Uhr zug, grrrrrrr. Nach einer angenehmen Reise verliess Nancy den Zug in Jaipur und ich fuhr via Ajmer nach Pushkar.
