We flew into Madrid and found this hostal easily. They sent me an email with directions which helped - but it is right off one of the metro lines. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and kind to weary travelers. Our room was clean and bathroom was clean too. ... more

We ended up getting moved over to the newer building a block away. Super clean, cool building, great and friendly staff that understood English. Big help for us with limited Spanish.

Great value for money! As a 'walking city' the hostal is very well placed (two minutes walk from Sol) in a typical Madrid street.

The location is fantastic! It`s just in the very center. If you go right you`ll get to Debod in 15 minutes and if you go left - to Prado.

Location a bit outside the 'real city center', but only 15' walk to the center, and metro around the corner. Advantage was: no street noise in the eves and nights.

Location is really great, very central, in the hart of Chueca. Close to metrostations Chueca, granvia and tribunal. Hotel is on the fourth floor, so you have to climb a lot of stairs.

The biggest problem was the noise. It was impossible to sleep in the first night, as the Calle Atocha is very busy 24h per day.

The facilities were a bit limited as unfortunately there was no fridge or facilities to make tea or coffee at the hotel. It was in a very convenient position and also with good security.

I was fairly happy with my room except for one thing; there was no cooling in the form of a fan or air con. Personally I think this is ludicrous in a country such as Spain with such a warm climate.
