It is a lovely old building, but note the use of old...if anyone on your floor or above moves around you can hear all the floorboards creaking. This can become annoying if you are a light sleeper as i am.
In general it is a nice place to stay, but be warned, it is situated in the red light district. I didn't feel unsafe but as i was staying alone i didn't wander around at night. Also there are many drunk and homeless people hanging around the area.
The cleanliness was a question, but this may be because i stayed at Pension fuerDich over the Easter weekend so things may have been a bit slacker.
Overall i would recommend staying here as it is cheap (unlike many places in Zurich) just be aware of the issues i have raised.
Oh, also when i booked i thought there would be a TV but there wasn't one. It seems that there are a few different types of rooms so make sure you actually get the one you want.
