The French Gérard, who owns the pousada, arrived on Ilha Grande in 1983, when the prison was still erected. Tourism almost inexisted then, the locals lived from the penitentiary. His hostel opened in 1989 and was among the first ones on the Ilha.

Brand new Hostel! Built in late 2010, we are the newest Hostel in Town, with brand new rooms and facilities to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Posada Bossa Nova is situated at 30 meters from Abraão Beach and at 5 minutes from the arrival docks. Rooms are cozy and decorated with handmade furniture. All rooms have TV, air conditioning, celling fan, mini-bar and private bathroom.

The inn has two game rooms, both with TV, DVD and cable TV, ping pong, dart and table games, DVD library with over 200 films. Each suite has TV, DVD player, ceiling fan, refrigerator, bathroom with hot shower and private balcony with hammock.

Pousada Cachoeira is located 10 minutes from the pier and 7 minutes from the Abraão beach in the middle of the forest with a nice tropical garden on the side of a clear water stream. It’s a nice quiet and cozy atmosphere to stay! We also provide breakfast which includes: fruits, juices, coffee, milk, breads, cheese, jam, egg, etc. Our guesthouse is very nice for couples, and small groups of friends who like an jungle atmosphere with a beautiful tropical garden. We serve a good breakfast like a buffet with the view to the garden. We speak English, Portuguese, German and a little bit of French .We have international guests and we like to give good information for tours All of our rooms have a mini bar a ceiling fan , own bathroom and a varanda in front, ( some room's with air-conditioning and hammock on the varanda ) .We have chalet’s for 2 until 5 people.
