wow, that's kinda the long way around... You could probably do it in about 10 hours if you went kaikoura, christchurch, geraldine, twizel, wanaka, but if you're really doing arthur's pass (not lewis pass?) I'd guess 7 hours kaikoura, christchurch, arthur's pass, frans josef, and another 5-6 franz josef ...
