Wadi Rum is a valley in the southern Jordanian desert known for its sand dunes. It is located one hour south of Petra and a popular tourist destination. Wadi Rum actually consists of a series of valleys about 2 kilometres wide stretching north to south for about 130 kilometres. Among the valleys is a desert landscape of sand and rocks.
