Singaraja is located along the north coast just east of Lovina and has about 80,000 inhabitants. Singaraja was the Dutch colonial administrative centre for Bali and the Lesser Sunda Islands until 1953, and was also an administrative center for the Japanese during their rule.

Bali - Where would you suggest going for a 1st time visitor?
It really depends on what you want to do during the days/evenings. Night life, noise, shopping, markets, bars etc is around Kuta, Sanur is a quieter area which we preferred ( aged 50 ), Singaraja up north is also quieter with average beaches, Nusa Dua has the 5 star resorts.
