Tarquinia is one of the best places for Etruscan remains. The museum is said to be second only to the Etruscan museum in Rome. Most memorable is the necropolis, which can be reached by local bus. Unlike the one at Cerveteri, it will not excite as you approach it - or indeed when you arrive.
