It is odd to arrive at an international port that is over 3,860 metres high. But that is how high Puno is located. This small town has an odd mixture of international port, tourist centre and Andean meeting place. Being the only easy way to access Lake Titicaca on the Peruvian side the town attracts many tourists.

Not much time was spent here in Puno (Peru side of the lake). The town was horrible (hence pooooono!!) and within 1 hour of arriving in the town we headed off to the floating villages for the afternoon. When we got to the islands we realised it was very touristy! The village people survive ...
