Während man durch die gepflasterten Straßen und schmalen Gassen schlendert, fühlt man sich in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Viele der stuckbesetzten Häuser mit ihren unendlich langen Innenhöfen sind heute Ateliers bzw. Galerien oder man kann sie besichtigen, wie z.B. el pasaje de La Defensa. Neben den Sehenswürdigkeiten in San Telmo warten noch viele andere auf Sie. Die meist besuchten sind: Plaza de Mayo (Regierungsplatz), Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio („die breiteste Straße der Welt"), Corrientes (Theaterstraße), Florida (Einkaufsstraße), Puerto Madero (neu restaurierter Hafen), La Boca (altes Tangoviertel, bunte Häuser), Reserva Ecológica (Naturschutzgebiet).
