Vientiane

Vientiane, the Laotian national capital is a quiet city by Asian standards, despite being the busiest city in the country. Situated on the Mekong river, the city is a blend of French colonial architecture and gilded temples. The city first became a capital in 1560, when it was the capital of the kingdom of Lan Xang.

Service was outstandingly welcoming and helpful, and is only marked down as one of the rooms booked (a double) was given away before our arrival, and replaced with a twin room. It was extremely nice to be greeted with a complimentary fruit drink/shake and fruit upon arrival. Nothing was too much trouble, and we would stay again. ... more

This is a humble but clean hotel located in the heart of Vientiane. The only problem I got was a small roach and some ants one night (granted I dropped some bread pieces on the floor). The breakfast is humble (bring your own coffee if you do not consume instant coffee). Overall you can't beat what you get for the price. ... more

Eelmise aasta novembrikuus oma 450. aastapäeva tähistanud Laos´e pealinn Vientiane ei ole enamuse rännumeeste märg unenägu. Reisiblogisid lugedes saab ta matse nii vasakult kui paremalt. Mulle linn meeldib. Minu linnade top 10sse, millest koheselt juttu tuleb, ta fööniksina tuhast ei tõusnud ent koht ...
