Excellent value, right on the beach on the southeast coast of Zanzibar. Good food. They do not take credit cards, so if you don't have a bundle of cash with you, the nearest ATM is an hour away in Stone Town, which is about a $45 taxi ride. Al Hapa Hotel

Al Hapa exceeded all my expectations! It's a small Swedish-owned and locally- run hotel right on the beach. Domokuchu is a very nice place to stay, nice new beach houses on a very pretty location. If there would be more shade in the morning at the beach side and less plastic on the beach its will be a taste of paradise. Lats and Leny ... more
