Chamonix is a town and popular ski resort in the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in central eastern France. It is located in the eastern portion of The Alps and the scenery is stunning here. Chamonix has about 10,000 inhabitants living in one of the highest communes of the country at around 1,000 metres above sea level.

just stayed 3 nights at AWA Chamonix Chalet Whymper, from 13-15 July 2010. The location is the killer. You have the best location, almost next to the tourist info center and just next to the town center but still you are in a very quietly location. AWA Chamonix Hotel El Paso

Enjoyed our stay, amazing value for money. Clean, basic warm and plenty of hot water. What more do you want? My only consern is that there is a noisy bar in the basment and if you were a light sleeper it WILL keep you up..... I am pleased to say I'm not and it didn't! ... more

Le Vert Hotel

We were in Chamonix for one night and needed a place to get organized for our Chamonix to Zermatt walk. The Le Vert Hotel was an excellent place to do this. It is about three km from the center of town and has good bus service. The room we got could not open with the key and the hotel clerk gave us another room that was great. ... more

Just spent five nights here and have nothing bad to say about the place, although basic, I found our room in the Louvre clean and warm and reasonably quiet.
