Chania is the second largest city on the Greek island of Crete with about 65,000 inhabitants in the city itself, but over twice as many in the greater area. It's about 145 kilometres from Heraklion and 70 kilometres from Rethymno, both to the east of Chania.

Location excellent 10 min walk from bus station, ocean views, and right by the harbour. Directions were a little confusing, taxi driver could not find it, but it is easy when you know how. "Landlady" had limited English, but more than compensated with her welcome, and her daughter filled in when needed. ... more
