Cozumel

Cozumel means "Island of the swallows" in Mayan. Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea opposite Playa del Carmen. It is one of the 9 municipalities of the state of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is the third-largest island in Mexico and the largest Atlantic Island of Mexico.

The hotel was situated right off the main square, very convenient to the ferry, cabs, etc. The only glitches were not anything they could control: The staff spoke Spanish (duh!) and I did not bring a phrasebook. They were very polite and very accomodating. They allowed us to rinse off our dive gear in their courtyard, using their hose. ... more

However, the warm water facility in the shower was a bit tricky to use (had to leave the warm water running in the sink while using the shower for the boiler to kick in). ... more
