Düsseldorf is the capital of the Northrhine-Westfalia area with a population of about 500,000 people. Early 7th and 8th century fishing villages existed along the Rhine River where the city of Düsseldorf is today. The first written mention of the city can be dated back to the 12th cenutry and it slowly grew into an important European city.

Breakfasts good. Room basic but comfortable but with horrible rubber mattress protector. Volume control on TV was broken and remote control didn't work. Basically a great hotel, old look and feel inrecpetion and breakfast area, brand new, crisp and fresh in the rooms, great bathroom, good sized plasma on the wall, but no AC which, when its 29 degrees, is a bit of a bummer, but other than that, highly reccomend this hotel. ... more
