any suggestions for where to go in Poland?
As well as already mentioned, i personally think Wroclaw is a really cool city, and the smaller towns of Zamosc and Torun are highly recomended as is the castle at Malbork. The tri-city Gdansk-Gdinya-Sopot area isn't too bad either, although it's more of a summer destination, the same as much of the NE ...

Poland (Warsaw/Krakow)
I'd skip warsaw. If you want to visit a second city, try Gdansk, Torun or Wroclaw, Those are much prittier and laidback than Warsaw. You will not get yourself bored with four days in Krakow. If you're in a hury you can fit all sightseeings in one day. But then you will not have time to speak to the Poles ...
