Dokchampa Hotel

Almost impossible to get to or from the hotel if you have not got your own car. There are no tuk-tuk, taxis whatever - and when trying to get to the busterminal outside of town (
a ditrfield 8 km from the hotel) they can't even call a taxi - fortunately a local couple felt pity for us and gave us a ride to the "terminal" - and what did we find there - alll the tuk-tuks!
We decided on this hotel because of the promise of a travelagency - non-existing. They could not find our reservation - good for us, because we discovered that it was cheaper to get their walk-in rate - look at the counter - and breakfast is NOT INCLUDED.
The receptionist was very moody - we managed to get one smile - but that was it.
There is a very good restaurant down the road on the river - opened just 2 years ago. Excellent service, great food and amazing sunset with locals playing in the Xekamen river.
The road 18a should be open, but with no buses or transportation you have to go around Pakse to get to Si Phan Don, unfortunately.
When travelling from Laos by Bo Y - no problem by the way, just remember 2a passpot picture and that you may have to pay 10.00 KIP if arriving after 4.pm. Arrving in Attapeu you can get off right after the Xekamen bridge by the local market - and then there is a 1-2 km's walk to Dochampa or the same to a brand new hotel on your left hand - almost the same rate!
Will not be going back to the Dokchampa hotel.
