Porto Carras Sithonia Beach
Chalkidiki, Greece
I've stayed in Porto Carras on four occasions. It is a fantastic place for the family vacations, not so much for the young people looking for fun (but those might check the nearby Neos Marmaras).
The rooms, food and service are absolutely fantastic. The hotel is next to the private beach, but there are also half a dozen of pools to swim in.
The property incorporates a wonderful marina which is full of yachts and small private boats.
The is a regular ferry to and from Neos Marmaras which is departing every hour.
Sithonia is one of the few places in Greece that has a gambling licence, so you might go into casino for a few rounds of blackjack, slots or roulette.
What I didn't like is that they charge extra for internet access (about 10 EUR for 50 hours or so) and there is also extra charge for indoor pool and sauna.
All in all, I can heartily recommend this hotel to families with kids.
Faros Beach Hotel
Rethymno, Greece
Faros Beach Hotel in Rethymno is one of the most central location hotel in Rethymno. We had stay in October in this hotel and we love it. Is right opposite from the venetian light house.
Very clean hotel, good value for your money, best views from your room, very central, the beach is just out from your door all the restaurants and cafes all behind you you don't need no transport, most of all excellent stuff.
