Hey Kevin,

A friend and I will be landing in Cairns on the 10th of April. While we don't plan to be working right away, we wouldn't pass up an opportunity that seemed enjoyable to knock it out.

While I have found this group beneficial:

I may set up a Facebook group for others travelling around the same time as that seems a better medium for more frequent communications. Feel free to add me through the link on my profile

Hi Kevin!

I'm doing the same but not starting till September. where did you get your camper and how much was it if you don't mind me asking? I was thinking of looking for one when I get over there, do you need an international driving license or any form of documentation to drive (other than UK license)?

We hadn't booked yet, but have narrowed it to: Caravella Backpackers, Travellers Oasis, Carona Backpackers

Hey talyn,

Got the camper in darwin, Gumtree site. Haggled the price, I payed 2800 which was awesome.. Its best to buy a camper where there's less backpackers.. Will be selling it in Sydney be a lot easier and probably get more than I payed for it.. You can use your license for 3 months, after that you need a permit, easy enough get.. Insurance is not compulsory however would be advised, you just rego, different states have different rates though.. Hope you have a good one, safe travels
