only 10 days left to the greatest Thai holiday. Generally it's a religious celebration (water sprinkled on Budha images)- but nowdays it's all-out street fights with buckets of the ice/coloured/dirty water thrown at anybody. In some places (like Pathaya) it lasts for 7 days - but traditionally it's only 3 days 13 - 15.04.

Have you ever participated in this festival? What do you think about it?

happy songkran to all - the next year will be even better

the thai police have banned pick-ups from carrying on tanks of water.

High pressure water pistols are also banned - and possession is an arrestable offence

It started already !!.. just saw on the news ..pick-up trucks carry tanks of water and wars on water are all over in Chiangmai. But biggie water guns that can shoot strongly TV.

At this 40'C who wouldn't want to get thrown with a few buckets of water?;)
