There's been times when I've been happy to have someone local with me. Otherwise, I could have been hopelessly lost in places where no one spoke English. How about you?

Too many times i've been to places, had a good few beers, jumped in a taxi and can't remember where i'm staying. It's only in the last year or so that the first thing i do is put a hotel business card in my wallet. Don't know why it took me so long to realise doing this would make my life easier, all part of the adventure i suppose

happaned to me on my first night in Bkk - luckyli it wasn't too far from the Khaosan Rd and the tuk-tuk driver instinctively just drove me back there

I've woken up in a few places and not known where I was. I agree with daveh though, and always get a name card from the hotel or whatever I'm staying in as soon as I check in

I have never minded getting lost...some of my best memories were while being lost. I think as long as your not in the middle of a desert or jungle...your really not too lost;)

My friends, husband and I got lost in Paris last year coming down Sacre Cur and everyone was freaking out cause it was past midnight (trains stop running after that time) and we couldnt find the bus to take us to another bus to get to the hotel.
I said, how about we just sleep in one of the parks?? Somehow I was the only one that was happy to get lost, where was everyone's sense of adventure!!!??? I mean, in the morning, everything would have been fine!

And our experience in Paris was the best memory of our trip...some tale to tell, we even took out the video camera and said so many funny things while sitting in some street corner. That was a really good and funny memory of the trip.

The only time I have been lost-lost... as in, starting to get worried about how lost I am... was in Vietnam. :(

The first time I got lost in my life was in Venice. Please note I do speak Italian and I could have easily asked for directions, but there was nodoby around and the narrow lanes and alleys looked just all the same! Eventually I found a way back on a main road... :)
