Quoting Brendan

No music is boooorrrriiinngggg

So, what DO YOU do on long trips Mr. B.? Yes, I mean you personally.

If I am driving, I sing...if I am the passenger, I sing.

I love to annoy my husband by signing as out of tune as possible and then when the song is finished I say to him... "so did you like it? I dedicated it to you...".

I turn on the music, really loud!! hehe if the other passangers let me

I sometimes sing, and if it is a really long trip then I take my shoes off and get comfortable!

The longest one I have been on is twenty-eight hours.... what a horrible horrible drive....

Thanks Mr. B.!

The longest I have been on - with another person - was 40 hrs ot Idaho from Chicago. We took turns sleeping/driving and keeping a diary of our travels.

Last summer, our best freind moved to Florida so I did the drive with him - 19 hours. I don't mind having music on for most of a trip, but it had to be on every waking minute. After awhile (since I don't have music or TV on during the day), the headache started. All I wanted was an hour of silence. No - didn't get it. Not even for the 4 hours we checked into a motel. (Yeah, Mr. I knows we shared a room. We've been friends 30+ years.) We traded off the driving with every gas fill. I was dreading the trip before we left... We had more fun during that drive then we've had together in quite some time. I wouldn't have missed it for anything. (And, I got to drive through Atlanta at 5 in the morning - nice highway planning there, seriously.)

I once drove from Torrevieja to Nice. Well, I wasn't actually driving, more like passengering. But I had the whole back seat for myself so I did a lot of sleeping. But mostly I just enjoyed the view.

Used to go on frequent road trips to Malaysia with my friends. We usually take turns to drive and im either taking the steering wheel or keeping an eye on whoever else thats driving. Cant trust those Schumacher-wannabes. Other than that, its just listening to the same CDs repeatly...But the good thing is there's always something to comment on when driving to a new place so its less somnolent.

I envy those of you who can sleep as a passenger in a car. There haven't been many people I trust with my life enough to let me relax enough to go to sleep.

As a passenger when I'm on a long car journey I like to sing and tell the driver to "Slow Down!", "Be Careful"...

As the driver I like to sing. I really enjoy the escape of a long road trip.

Driving from one side of Australia to another is a long way. The Nullarbor Plain can get very monotous. You can only play so much music. Small talk can sometimes be reduced to reading the occasional road sign. There's been times, I've started falling asleep in the heat whilst driving in the desert. Best thing I've found, is to stop the car and get out for a while

Likewise Wocca, I have fallen a sleep driving through Saskatchewan!
