I'll be in and around Sydney from 22nd April until... who knows. I don't really have any concrete plans, but I'm hoping to travel up the East Coast... I'm pretty flexible.
I have a few friends who live in Sydney but this is my first time properly solo travelling (arrrgh) so it would be great to meet other travellers too.
So far it's just me and my Lonley Planet guide, so if anyone's around or has any advice where to stay/what to see/what to do- I'd love to hear from you!

Hi jo! I'm going on my own and flying to sydney on the 20th of May and planning on going up the Gold Coast and just going with the flow really, I've also got a working visa sorted too and just gonna see how it all goes really! Are you planning on working too?
I'm arriving in Sydney a few days after you and planning to stay until September (might change though). Hoping to do some rural work after that to get my second year visa. Haven't got any plans for the East Coast at the moment but I would like to see Brisbane and the Great Barrier Reef at some point.
Hey guys I'm arriving in Sydney on the 27th of May and planning on heading up the east coast too! I just have to book accommodation and I'm good to go! Have yous sorted where you are staying yet?
I think I'm going to do some work. I have a bit of money saved up but since looking properly at accommodation (& warnings from people about how prices Aus is), I'm a bit concerned that it's not going to last very long! Oh well. I'm hoping to get some rural work to top up the funds so I can do everything on my list and not be completely skint after two months!
I also want to extend my visa for the second year. Have you looked on the Travellers At Work site? It's seems like a good place to look for seasonal work & for short term jobs. And it's good because it tells you if they're eligible for the second year extension.
I've got my first night booked (get into Sydney about 10pm so I forked out for a night at a hotel near the station) then I'm going to book a week in a YHA somewhere, just so I can find my feet!
Are you thinking of travelling elsewhere after Aus?
