Merci beaucoup :)
I will fly to Sevilla from Paris with vueling. It's great.
Then is there a bus to join grenada?

By bus (3h. 30 min, 17,60 €)

By train (3 h. 20,80 €)

I'd choose the train.

Thank you, I think I will choose the train, I've right.
But do you know how can I join Grenade to Peniscola? There's no train and I think there's also no bus...
In fact my holidays will be :
Peniscola Barcelone.
For paris-grenade, I will go to seville with vueling like you said, but for grenade-peniscola, I have no idea...

Well, there IS a train, the Granada-Barcelona 'García Lorca' train. It stops at Benicarló-Peñíscola Station, which is 3 Kms away from Peñíscola. But it takes 9:30 h. to do the trip because it stops at every town on the way. It only runs on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

I don't know if I should recommend it, but if you can't find any other way to get there:

Renfe Granada-Barcelona

Click on the word 'Garcia Lorca' to see the stops and timetable.

Departure from Gr: 8:45
Arrival at Benicarló-Peñíscola: 18:14

If you fly to Seville, visit the city.

I hope to have a go at the Marathon in Valencia in February. I'm trying to get there from Edinburgh. We can fly direct to Alicante or Benidorm. Otherwise it can take all day on either 2 or three flights! How far from Alicante is Valencia, how long is the train journey. Or is it sensible to hire a car for the few days?

For those interested in the initial question raised ('How can I travel from Valencia or Alicante to Malaga | Spain') it may be good to know that apart from the multinationals like Avis, Hertz, europcar etc. there are a couple of local spanish companies offering one-way car rentals between Valencia, Malaga and/or Alicante. Depending on the lenght of your car rental you may be able to get this service completely free of charge, which makes it very interesting compared to trains or busses. Rather than booking direct with the car hire company you can get a better deal with some of the online brokers who offer cheap one-way car rental in Valencia, Alicante, Almeria, Murcia, Malaga, Granada, Gerona, Seville or Jerez. So when ever you have to travel between these cities it is an option to take into consideration.
