And this says you can buy your ticket on baord ..Universtity of Genoa

Best of luck - it is very confusing, but an opportunity for some enterprising Italian speaker to develop something on the web.

Hi,

I've used Italia Rail before and it's quite good. They also have weekend specials etc.
Rail Europe is another alternative. Try -snip- , it's an easy way
to get all the info you need. When checking the train sites don't forget to look for
deals, they're not always obvious but they all have them.

Quoting Icecouple

Hi there :)

I am seeking for some advice about trains and buses in Northern-Italy.

We are a company of three travelers from Iceland. We are visiting Italy in July and would like to travel with bus or train between places.
I have googled a lot and some of the Internet sites I have found seem only to be available in Italian and unfortunately I donĀ“t understand this beautiful language.

Can anyone help us and advice us about following:

- Which is better/easier/cheaper option, train or a bus?

- Where can we book train or bus fare?

- It it better to book online in advance or buy tickets when we arrive?

We need to travel on these dates:
- Milan-Malpensa airport 16th of July (arriving at 10:10am) to Genoa.

- Genoa to Alassio 20th of July (anytime during the day).

- Alassio to Milan-Malpensa on the 29th of July (need to be at the airport about 15:30 / 3:30pm).

Grazie :)

Hi,
I don't know which is the cheaper solution. What I know for sure is that trains in Italy are frequently late
Enjoy your travel
