Have you travelled in business class? Is it worth the extra cost?

I have and i don't think it is, my friend worked for an airline so was able to get my ticket / seat bumped up, yes its nice, champagne, nice food, extra leg room but the cost is crazy and i would never pay it ( i'd prefer to spend that money staying somewhere for longer )

Last January when my brother and I were going skiing to the States we got upgraded to first class with Aer Lingus. Was my first time and i was tickled pink at all the trimmings. It was definitely a treat, but I agree with Raven - not worth paying the extra money for. The best bit for me was being able to stretch out and sleep. :)

I have traveled first class in few occasions (when my dad was paying for it ) but now that is comes out of my pocket, I dont think is worth the extra money. Yes, you are more comfortable and you can eat more but I think that money can be spent wisely in some other way. ;)

Before i flew back from Islamabad once, i met some of the aircrew who were flying me back the next day. After i thrashed them all at pool we got drunk together. The next day i found myself sat in the cockpit of a BA jumbo for the flight home - not that's what i call an upgrade!!!!!!

I have been flying business a couple of times within Europe for work, it was great since I didn't have to pay for it (hehehe...) but I don't think it would be worth...
And even better, on my flight back from Zambia I got upgraded to first class and that was just brilliant, although my friends refused to talk to me... The last thing I heard from one of the guys was "How did you get upgraded???", but luckily they closed the curtain soon after that...
But paying for it, no way, just for some more food and some more channels, when most of the time you doze anyway... I don't think so...

For a moment, I thought you woke up at the cockpit after getting drunk the night before.

I've flown both business and first class. It's definately NOT worth paying extra between business and first class. They are much of a muchness...

In some instances I think flying business class is justified. My step-dad could afford to have us all travel business class and insisted on it for trips overseas. Not only that, he suffered ill-health and it was much more comfortable for him in business class. You get individual service, can select what food you want from a set menu - but the food is not really any better. You get free grog! You can take 10kg more luggage - no use for a backpacker though, and you get to jump the queues at airports. You can wait in the airline lounge before departure and get to use their facilities for free - eat food, use their computers etc etc. It's fun! But on the other hand there's something about flying economy that makes it more of a travel experience.

I've travelled on business and first class...both on a trip in which I was flying on a buddy pass. My friend's dad knew all the crew because he was a pilot on that same airline and they kept "finding" seats for us in the higher classes. It was a great time...and if I won the lotto I would do it all the time! Being tall, the extra legroom was great! Not to mention the wine.... :) Now, being poor, little ole me, I will stick to economy. Well, unless anyone out there is paying...

I have flown business as well as first quite often. Travel agents get those kind of perks.
Is it worth it? WELL........Is it worth to eat out, oppose to brown bagging it/cook at home ? Or buy those 150 pair jeans, on sale at Nordstroms?! Not needed for sure, but it's nice to treat yourself every once in awhile. Besides, 5+ hours in a middle seat with a booger monster kid kicking your chair OR some nice slippers? Hmm..I will take door number 2.
