Ok guys and gals i have a RTW ticket problem.

Me and my partner and going to travel for 6 months this Sept 05. Now we think we may be visiting to many places within the 6 months.

Bangkok - 5 Days
Singapore - 7 Days
Bali - 13 Days
NZ - 28 Days (Campervan)
OZ - 59 Days
Fiji - 5 Days
Honolulu - 5 Days
LA - 10 Days
San Francisco - 10 Days
vancover - 10 Days
Toronto - 8 Days
New York - 8 Days

Does this look the case? As this is a once in a life time thing never to be repeated trip, we wanted to make sure we saw all on our list. If you think we are doing to much, what places do you recommend that we not bother with.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Hey Mj - if it was me I would cut some of the days in Singapore maybe...you could probably see what you would need to in less time.
Also, I would spend half the time in LA that you have planned. Again, it all depends on how much you want to see these places, what you have planned when you get there, but many people that I have spoken to re LA were disappointed with it.

That way, you could still take them in but use a couple of extra days in Oz or NZ where you would probably really want them.

Dunno if that's any help. Travel itineraries are a very subjective thing!:)

And with no offence to Torontonians, 8 days is a long time to spend in Toronto. Hey, I'd say the same if you were talking about Montreal! I think...

Anyhow, maybe include a day trip to Ottawa or take a few days to head doen to Montreal and Quebec City, or stop off in Niagara Falls for a bit. I'm sure once you're there, though, you'll see options available to you if you feel you've been in one place too long.

Personally i would chip a few days off LA, SF and Singapore and have another week or 2 in Thailand and explore away from Bangkok. There is so much to see and do. 13 days in Bali is plenty. No need to consider doing any more time there.
If you are just staying in any city 5 days is normally enough, obviously extend the time if there are things you want to explore away from the city

Thanks all for your input. I knew i could count on the members of TP.

I will take all your suggestions on board and let you know the outcome. We're booking the tickets on the 18th April.

Hi

I was in Singapore for a week and I found this was too long, theres only so much shopping you can do! I went to Thailand, planned on going there for a month and ended up staying for 5 months! If you can spend longer there I would, its so nice. Im planning a trip for the end of the year, Im saving at the moment, how much spending money are you both planning on taking if you dont mind me asking, Im trying to save as much as poss at the mo, just wonderd what other people take?:)

Hi Happy1,
Thanks for the advice.

As for how much we are taking. As i have read on this forum it depends on what additional activities you want to do and whether you sleep on a bunk bed (hostel) or on a four poster bed (5 star hotel).

We have been saving for some time and are taking with us around 11K (£60 per day) this will included everything such as accommodation (hostels only) and food. We believe this is going to be more than enough. We have also set aside extra money for things such as Watersports and more dangerous activites such as Sky Diving etc. Like i say we have been saving up for a while and as it's a once in a life time trip, we're going to make the most of it - we both can't wait.
