I doubt it. I don't think any company would want to fix a price on a ticket for that long. I think you'll find the majority have a condition that you return WITHIN 12 months of departure.

STA were offering 18 month tickets about 3 years ago. These were from Australia - Canada - South America - Europe - Australia

99% are within a year but some airline alliances will allow longer when working together with selected agencies. I know BUNAC in the US for example are able to offer an 18 month ticket due to a special deal they have with STA.... I think STA probably has more of those deals, but generally otherwise you are looking at one way tickets to get around this.

Bummer really!

Absolute bummer ... Twelve months is just NOT long enough to go around the world

Myself and 2 mates are going away for over 2 years and we can only get 2 1year RTW tickets but we wont be using the last leg on the trip and instead will be going via train and boat.

Please clarify the underlined part above

meaning basically you cant get more than a 1 year ticket.so you get your first rtw ticket that lasts 1 year but you dont use the last leg of it.Then say a month before your 1st year is up buy your second 1 year ticket.
for instance say you leave 14th may 2005 and get a rtw to

uk
canada
usa
brazil
new zealand
uk

and that takes up a year.dont use the flight back to uk but in new zealand buy another rtw ticket and do

australia
south east asia
africa
uk

Thats not my plan thats just an idea of how you do it
